Maccarini Andrea Maria (Università di Padova)

Andrea M. Maccarini è professore ordinario di Sociologia dei processi culturali e comunicativi, vice-direttore del Dipartimento di Scienze politiche, giuridiche e studi internazionali e presidente del Corso di laurea magistrale in Innovazione e servizio sociale nell’Università di Padova. Nello stesso Ateneo è coordinatore della Classe di Scienze sociali presso la Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori. Fa parte del collegio docenti del Dottorato di ricerca in Sociologia e ricerca sociale nell’Università di Bologna.
E’ stato visiting scholar in varie Università, tra cui University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Boston University e Humboldt-Universität Berlin.
E’ membro del board di IACR (International Association for Critical Realism) e collaboratore del Centre for Social Ontology, fondato da Margaret S. Archer. E’ delegato dell’Italia nel governing board e siede nel bureau di vice-presidenza di Ocse-Ceri (Centre for Educational Reform and Innovation).
E’ membro del comitato scientifico di varie riviste italiane e internazionali e co-direttore delle collane IES – Innovazione, educazione e società (Franco Angeli) e Realismo sociologico (Rubbettino).
I suoi interessi scientifici riguardano gli ambiti della teoria sociologica, della sociologia dell’educazione e della socializzazione e del mutamento culturale. Tra le sue pubblicazioni: M.S. Andrea M. Maccarini is full professor of Sociology, Department associate chair and program director for the graduate studies in Innovation and Social Work at the University of Padova, Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies. At the University of Padova he is Chair of the Class of Social Sciences at the Galilean School of Higher Studies.
He is a member of the teaching board of the Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Bologna.
He has been a visiting scholar in various Universities, among which the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Boston University, and the Humboldt-Universität Berlin.
He is a board member of IACR (International Association for Critical Realism) and collaborator of the Center for Social Ontology, founded by Margaret S. Archer. He is Italian delegate and bureau member at OECD-Ceri (Center for Educational Reform and Innovation).
He is a member of the editorial board for various journals of sociology and the related social sciences. He is codirector of two book series, IES – Innovazione, educazione e società (Franco Angeli) and Realismo sociologico (Rubbettino).
His current research interests lie in the fields of social theory, education and socialization, and cultural change.
