Laura Gemini, PhD, è Professoressa Ordinaria in Sociologia dei Processi Culturali e Comunicativi presso il Dipartimento di Scienze della Comunicazione, Studi Umanistici e Internazionali (DISCUI) dell’Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo dove insegna Linguaggi mediali e forme della performance e Sociologia dell’immaginario e culture visuali. I suoi interessi di ricerca riguardano prevalentemente il campo dei performance studies dal punto di vista della relazione fra performance e mediatizzazione con particolare attenzione all’analisi degli immaginari, delle dinamiche creative e spettatoriali. In questo ambito il focus della sua ricerca riguarda i processi della liveness e della liveness digitale. È principal investigator dell’Osservatorio sui pubblici dal vivo del centro di ricerca LaRiCA della sua Università; è vicedirettrice della Rivista Connessioni Remote. Artivismo_Teatro_Tecnologia (Università di Milano); cura la rubrica “Le arti della politica” per la Rivista Comunicazione Politica (il Mulino). Laura Gemini, PhD, is Full Professor in Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes at the Department of Communication Sciences, Humanities and International Studies (DISCUI) of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo where she teaches Media Languages and Forms of Performance and Sociology of Imaginary and Visual Cultures. His research interests mainly concern the field of performance studies from the perspective of the relationship between performance and mediatization with a focus on the analysis of imaginaries, creative and spectatorial dynamics. In this area, the focus of his research is on the processes of liveness and digital liveness. She is principal investigator of the Observatory on Live Audiences at her university’s LaRiCA research center.
