De Leonardis Ota (Università di Milano Bicocca)

Ota de Leonardis is Professor of Sociology of Culture at the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Milano-Bicocca, where she is Faculty member at the Postgraduate School of Sociology and Postgraduate School of Planning and Management of Social Policies, and member of the teaching board of the European Doctorate in Urban Studies URBEUR.
At the same University, she is the founder and Director of the Research Centre of Sociological Studies on Public Action Sui Generis at the same University.
She is president of the Scientific Board of the Institute for Advanced Studies of Nantes (France), and member of the board of several research Centres,   such as CSM (Centro Studi per la Riforma dello Stato) and URBAN@IT(Centro Studi per le Politiche Urbane), as well as of several Italian and European journals.

She was invited scholar and/or professor at UBA (Buenos Aires), EHESS (Paris), Université de Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada), IAS Nantes, Universidad General Sarmiento (Buenos Aires).
Her main research focuses on institutions, on the management and instrumentation of the public sector, particularly in the social policies field, and on the transformations of the public sphere, citizenship and democracy.
